Carmen Capuano - Author of Chick-Lit, Thrillers, Sci-fi, Children’s books

Carmen Capuano was born in 1966, in Govan, Glasgow and is of Italian and Spanish descent. She left her native Scotland at the age of eighteen to seek her fortune in London. A full and varied career saw her tread the boards as a musical theatre performer, before undertaking such diverse jobs as a primary school teacher and veterinary assistant in Birmingham. She now lives in the small Worcestershire town of Bromsgrove. Interested in writing from an early age, it was only when she had her own children that she found her enthusiasm for story telling had not waned in any way and was still as alive and enticing as ever. "For me, writing is as essential to the soul as breathing is to the body."

The author lives in a big Californian mansion overlooking the sea, where she rides one of her seven horses on the sand every day, and her butler brings her Pina Coladas to sip… is that what you expected to hear? Ok, so back to reality then.

The author lives in Bromsgrove, a small town in the English Midlands. Originally from Glasgow, she came to England in the expectation of a better climate and less hills. Now 45 and with three young children in tow, she is forced to keep a sense of humour about life.

It took me a while to discover what I truly enjoy. And when I realised that I have always been interested in computers and more laterally the internet plus assisting people, I can truly say I am now experiencing my dream job. Working for myself of course is the first priority, assisting others to grow is the second priority, everything else just follows.

Staying Alive UK is about just 1 key objective delivered across 2 disciplines. My key objective is coaching businesses and business professionals to become better storytellers.

My business tool of choice is of course LinkedIn and it is the best place to share your personal and/or business story. So this is one half of my business and a major part of my coaching.

The other half is assisting businesses and specifically creative agencies to enhance their storytelling techniques through Whiteboard Animation. An almost childlike medium allowing stories to come alive through hand drawing illustrations and unfolding stories frame by frame. Time to ‘Share Your Story’.
